Staff and students from CITI and Edgehill on study visit to Rome
A group of staff and students from the Church of Ireland Theological Institute, Dublin, and Edgehill Theological College, Belfast, are on a study visit to Rome.
The programme for the group of 23 includes visits to the Vatican Museum, the Sistine Chapel, the Anglican Centre in Rome, the place of Saint Paul’s house arrest, the Pantheon, the Basilica of Saint Paul’s Outside the Walls,
the Palatine, the Roman Forum, the Basilica of San Clemente, and the Colosseum,
and there is a guided walk of the Ignatian churches and San Luigi ai Francesi.
Before leaving Rome, the study group is also visiting the Catacombs of San Domitilla
Many of the arrangements for this visit have been made by Archbishop David Moxon, the Archbishop of Canterbury’s Representative to the Holy See and Director of the Anglican Centre in Rome. He was previously the Bishop of Waikato, the archbishop of the New Zealand dioceses and one of the three primates of the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia.
Archbishop Moxon is the Anglican chair of the Anglican–Roman Catholic International Commission (ARCIC III).
During the visit, there are opportunities for worship in Saint Peter’s Square, the Methodist Church in Rome, and the Anglican Centre in Rome – and for pizza and ice–cream near Piazza Navona.
