A new semester is under way at the Church of Ireland Theological Institute, with the return of full–time and part–time students, deacon–interns and students following the Reader course.

If last semester is anything to go by, this semester promises to be an exciting one for students and staff alike.

Last semester closed with a candle–light Advent carol service in Zion Parish Church at which the Revd John Stephens of Dublin Central Mission was the guest preacher.

The service, at the invitation of the Rector of Zion, the Revd Stephen Farrell, was attended by the Archbishop of Dublin, the Most Revd Michael Jackson, staff, students and many friends of CITI, and seasonal refreshments were served afterwards.

The collection went to the Dublin and Glendalough Advent diocesan appeal for Gaza, “Let’s prepare a place at our table this Christmas.” The emergency appeal aimed to raise €150,000 for the Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza City.

Earlier the semester, the Harvest Service organised by the students raised funds for Fields of Life.
