Senior Student 2019
Anna Williams
My name is Anna Williams. I’m 29 years old and from Hillsborough Parish in the Diocese of Down and Dromore. Before coming to CITI, I studied English and Theology in Trinity College, Dublin; and did a Masters in Global Ethics at the University of Birmingham. It’s been a real privilege to come back to Dublin and back to Trinity College to continue studying Theology full–time through CITI.
I grew up in a Christian home, with very faithful parents and grandparents who trained me up in the way I should go and continually pointed me to Jesus Christ. Following their compassionate example, I have been involved with mission – overseas and at home – and explored Global Development as a career option after I graduated. However, I was interrupted by God, and began to sense a call to ordained ministry a few years ago.
I explored this call while serving as a ministry intern in Seapatrick Parish, Banbridge. During this discernment process, I grew in my desire to know God and to make Him known. I continued to feel God calling me to ordained ministry, through His Word and by His Spirit; and was very aware of God equipping me for the task of ministry, as well as being affirmed and encouraged by others to continue on the journey towards ordination.
Training and studying for the ordained ministry at CITI has been formational. It’s a place where I am growing as a disciple of Christ, as God continues a good work in me and forms me to be the person and minister He wants me to be. I am so thankful for God’s sustaining grace, and for the friendships I have formed and all I have learnt so far.
