55 take part in new training courses
A recent weekend in the Church of Ireland Theological Institute attracted 55 students who took part in the opening programme of two further training courses.
They include 19 men and women from seven dioceses who are embarking on the one–year Foundation Course programme, and 36 students who are starting the fourth cycle of Reader training, which lasts two years.
The ‘Fit for the Purpose’ weekend looked at biblical and personal explorations of vocation.
The main facilitators were: Canon Dr Christina Baxter, the former Principal of Saint John’s College, Nottingham, the Revd Dr Andy Angel, Vice–Principal of Saint John’s College, Jenny Corcoran, Senior Distance Learning Tutor at Saint John’s and Rev Canon Dr Maurice Elliott, Director of the Church of Ireland Theological Institue.
